Urban Kutcheri is a unique endeavor by New York based Indian classical artists who have come together to present their traditions in a modern light. The program presents classical Bharatanatyam and Carnatic music juxtaposed with contemporary imagery and word.

Now in its third year, the benefit is hosted for its namesake organization, Guria, which is a non profit organization in Varanasi, India that hopes to promote awareness of prostitutes' human and civil rights by ending their dependence on prostitution in the "red-light district."
